Here is some Weekly Wisdom from Diana.

Q1: What are the biggest challenges for leaders at this time?

  • Staying positive to inspire others. Start by taking good care of yourself. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, exercise (take walks, move!), eat properly, watch “happy” movies, read heartwarming books. Participate in family & friends Zooms to stay “Happy.” Girlfriend Happy Hours work!

  • Stay in touch with people you are leading. Start by being consistent. Always execute same day of week Zoom or make scheduled “touching base” phone calls. Show you care!

Q2: What are you seeing as the biggest opportunities for leaders right now?

  • Leaders are trying new technologies and learning new “best practices.” They are growing as leaders. Then, they are able to lead by example and share!

  • Leaders are more collaborative with colleagues. They have time to learn from others. They are becoming more fulfilled by learning themselves. They are not stale!

Q3: What advice and resources are you sharing the most?

  • I am advising others to participate in learning opportunities. Best resources are offerings by NAR, CAR and local AORs. I share which opportunities that I am attending and encouraging others to join me.

  • I am sharing BEST movies, documentaries, etc. for entertainment to help myself and everyone stay engaged and avoid boredom!

Q4: What tips do have for leaders on how to communicate effectively?

  • Go back and dust off how you were trained on effective communication. It all comes back to you!

  • For me, I reviewed all my Mike & Tom Ferry and Brian Buffini training guides. Example, put a smile on your face before reaching out to others. Practice FORD: talk about their Family, their Occupation, their Recreation/fun, and their Dreams.

  • Become again the “People Person” you always enjoyed being.

Q5: What is your advice for leaders who are struggling, stressed…..

  • Reach out to others. Ask what they are doing to struggle less, destress.

  • Get out of the rut! Change your pace, change your cosmetics, shop in your closet for “new” outfits. Try new recipes.

  • Make an effort to be happy. Eliminate negativity (too much news, etc.) or downer people.

  • Be reflective. Meditate. Take time to think and jot down important thoughts. Create a ‘Happy” plan!
