What inspired you to go out on your own?

Sabrina’s answer:

My Husband, because I was training and mentoring agents at another brokerage so why not do it for myself

Barb’s answer:

Always was contemplating it. Always stuck in the back of my mind. But didn’t really push myself to take the leap until the first WomanUp event where I heard inspiring stories, and met some incredible woman who pushed me to overcome my limiting beliefs.

How has the journey been? What are you up to now?

Barb:

Amazing, Wish I would have done it sooner. We’ve grown, we continue to grow, and I am excited about some new opportunities ahead.

Sabrina:

It has been challenging and rewarding. Learning,, growing and evolving

What do you wish you knew when you started your brokerage?

Sabrina:

I wish I would have known all of the resources that were available to me

Barb:

That I would have done it sooner. I wish I knew how many agents would support me, how much industry support I would get, and how happy I would be. Having our own culture that I am in complete control of is the best part about being your own broker.

What has been your favorite “owning a brokerage” lesson so far?

Barb:

Stick to your guns on culture. Do not waver on your core values. If in your gut an agent or team member is not a good fit, then it is NOT a good fit.

Sabrina:

Creating a space that I want to go to everyday and to be surrounded by people that I truly enjoy being around

What’s next for you?

Sabrina:

Just continue to grow and mentor new agents

Barb:

LOL, some things I can’t talk about yet :)

Continued growth

Before we go… Do you have any final advice you’d like to share?

Barb:

Believe you can, and you can! If it’s in your heart DO IT there is a huge community of supportive women at WomanUP and a whole huge community at CAR and NAR that are here to help you.

Sabrina:

Dream Big! Anything is possible if you believe in yourself and are willing to do the work. Don't be afraid to ask for help
